Full-Scope Asphalt Paving

Built Right from the Ground Up

RC Grading offers asphalt paving as part of a complete driveway and site development package. We handle the full scope — subgrade preparation, proper base compaction, and asphalt installation — so your driveway is built right, not just paved over an inadequate base. Most paving problems start below the surface. A driveway that cracks, sinks, or develops potholes within a few years almost always has a base problem — poor compaction, bad drainage, or inadequate subgrade preparation. RC Grading approaches asphalt paving the same way we approach every grading job: the ground has to be right first.

OUR SKILLED TEAM

What's Included in Our Asphalt Service

Subgrade Preparation

We cut, shape, and compact the native soil to the correct grade and cross-slope before any base material goes down.

Gravel Base Compaction

Proper crusher run or ABC stone base, compacted in lifts to provide a stable, load-bearing platform for the asphalt layer.

Asphalt Installation

Hot-mix asphalt applied at the correct thickness and compacted to a smooth, durable surface that handles mountain terrain.

Drainage Planning

We design proper crown and edge drainage into every driveway — water management is essential for asphalt longevity.

On-Site Assessment

Every job starts with a free on-site walk. We assess soil conditions, slope, drainage needs, and traffic load before quoting.

Honest Scope & Pricing

We walk your driveway, give you a clear written breakdown, and explain what's needed — no surprise costs after work begins.

PROVEN RELIABILITY

Why Choose RC Grading for Asphalt Paving

We never pave over bad ground. Every asphalt job starts with verified subgrade, proper compaction, and correct drainage — because that's what makes pavement last 20+ years instead of 5.

You don't hire a grader and a separate paving company. We handle the full job — grading, base, and asphalt — which means better coordination and cleaner results.

We've built driveways on steep, rocky North Georgia slopes for over 15 years. We know how water and soil behave on this terrain — that knowledge goes into every paving job.

If gravel is a better solution for your driveway — due to length, terrain, or budget — we'll say so. We're not here to upsell, we're here to build something that works.

How It Works

Our Asphalt Paving Process

Step 01

Free On-Site Assessment

We walk the full driveway with you — assessing soil conditions, grade, drainage, and traffic load. We give you an honest recommendation on whether asphalt is right for your situation.

Step 02

Subgrade & Drainage Prep

We cut, shape, and compact the existing ground to proper grade. Drainage is engineered in at this stage — crown, edge slopes, and any required culverts or French drains.

Step 03

Base Compaction

Crusher run or ABC stone base is installed and compacted in lifts until it meets density requirements. This is the most important step — the base determines how long the pavement lasts.

Step 04

Asphalt Installation & Finish

Hot-mix asphalt is placed and compacted to the specified thickness. We finish edges cleanly and walk the completed surface with you before we leave the job site.
